
Marking 27 years since its inception, the Sri Kala Sudha Telugu Association, which was established on November 21, 1998, in Chennai to promote and celebrate Telugu culture, will be presenting the 28th Ugadi Awards on the auspicious occasion of the Parabhava Nama Samvatsara Ugadi.

The awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 4:29 PM at the Music Academy, Chennai. During the event, “Mahila Ratna,” “Bapu Bomma,” “Bapu–Ramana,” and “Vishishta Ugadi” Awards, along with Cine Awards–2025, will be presented. These awards will honour actors, directors, producers, and technicians from films released in 2025 across various categories. Additionally, accomplished women from different fields will be felicitated with the Mahila Ratna Award. The decision regarding the awardees was taken after discussions with the committee members.

Members of Sri Kala Sudha have invited Telugu people from across regions to attend the event and celebrate the rich legacy and achievements of the Telugu community.

On this occasion, the organizers announced the names of the award recipients and shared details of the upcoming ceremony. The press meet was attended by Telugu Film Producers Council Secretary Tummala Prasanna Kumar, senior film journalist Prabhu, Bethireddy Srinivas, Prativadhi Bhayankara Phaninder, Venu Gopal, Ajay Kumar, journalist Keshava, and others.
The event will have Dr. Brahmasani Chandrasekhar as the Chief Guest, while MVR Murali Krishna will attend as the Guest of Honour. A. Sai Prasad, Sahu Garapati, Shashikanth Valleppalli, Muba Padmaiah, Rajamouli Sheern, and Saroj Vivekanand will grace the occasion as Special Guests.
The Vasishta Ugadi Award for Public Service will be presented to Andhra Pradesh Tourism and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh. The Mahila Ratna Award will be conferred upon Mrs. Mamatha Madireddy. The Andesri Memorial Award will be presented to Oscar-winning lyricist Chandrabose, while the PB Srinivas Award will be given to music director Devi Sri Prasad for the film Thandrini.
