The much-awaited romantic comedy ‘De De Pyaar De 2’, produced by Bhushan Kumar and Luv Ranjan, is all set to hit theatres soon. Starring Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh, and Tabu, the sequel to the 2019 hit film is carrying moderate buzz ahead of release. Early trade estimates suggest that the film’s opening day collections will fall in the range of ₹5.50 – ₹6.50 crore nett, depending on walk-in audiences and spot bookings.

While the film benefits from Ajay Devgn’s strong urban fan base and the goodwill of its predecessor, the advance booking numbers have been on the lower side. According to early reports, major multiplex chains are witnessing limited pre-sales, indicating that the opening day is unlikely to cross the ₹7 crore mark. However, the film’s light-hearted genre and family-friendly content could help it gain momentum through positive word of mouth.

Trade experts believe that if ‘De De Pyaar De 2’ manages to strike a chord with audiences, especially in metros and tier-1 cities, it could witness strong growth over the weekend. In an optimistic scenario, the film could even touch the ₹7–8 crore range on Friday if reviews and public response turn out to be exceptional. The first installment of the franchise had opened at around ₹10 crore nett and went on to become a sleeper hit due to strong audience connect and repeat viewership.

Whether the sequel can replicate that success remains to be seen. With a blend of humor, romance, and nostalgia, ‘De De Pyaar De 2’ will rely heavily on its word of mouth to deliver a solid box office performance in the days ahead.
