₹300 Crore Scam in Chitrapuri – Film Workers Stage Massive Protest at FDC Demanding Arrest of President Vallabhaneni Anil

Several film workers and leaders staged a massive protest in front of the Film Development Corporation (FDC) office on Wednesday, alleging a ₹300 crore scam in the Chitrapuri Housing Society. They accused society president Vallabhaneni Anil Kumar of rampant corruption under his leadership. Protesters claimed that genuine film workers were being denied houses, while flats were being sold in the black market for crores of rupees.
They demanded the immediate arrest of Vallabhaneni Anil Kumar. The Chitrapuri Struggle Committee and CITU leaders expressed anguish, alleging that there is a conspiracy to cheat workers in the land allocated for them.“In the remaining 2.5 acres of Chitrapuri, instead of building single- and double-bedroom houses as requested by workers, the committee is undertaking large-scale constructions ranging from 1,200 to 4,400 square feet, planning to sell them to outsiders. For this, they have colluded with HMDA and CMO office officials to carry out illegal activities,” they alleged.Ignoring Court OrdersProtesters pointed out that Vallabhaneni Anil Kumar already has 15 FIRs and 10 charge sheets filed against him and has been jailed twice, yet continues his illegal activities.
They stated that despite the Telangana High Court, through Writ Petition Nos. 18225/2021, 7642/2024, and 9335/2025, directing action against the current committee, officials have ignored the orders, allowing Anil Kumar’s corruption to go unchecked.Serious Allegations Against Government and OfficialsThey questioned why the current government is protecting such individuals when the previous government paid the price for shielding the corrupt.“Some top government officials are already involved in this corruption. That is why the Chief Minister himself must intervene. Authorities are part of this multi-crore fraud and are misleading Cooperative Department Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao,” they alleged.Main Demands:Justice for 6,000 members who have been waiting for 20–25 years after paying their dues.Immediate cancellation of the decision to grant 1,000 new memberships.Dissolution of the current committee led by Vallabhaneni Anil Kumar and appointment of an ad-hoc committee immediately.
In the new twin towers project, only single- and double-bedroom houses should be built and allotted exclusively to eligible film workers.Strict action against officials who fail to implement court orders. The protest was attended by Chitrapuri Struggle Committee president Kasturi Srinivas, Junior Artists’ CITU leader Sankuri Ravinder, Telangana Struggle Intellectuals leader Bhadra, Navodaya Party president Shivashankar Patel, AAP leader Hema Sudarshan, Gadam Lalitha, Ramesh Varma, Srinu, C.H.
