Actor Ken Karunaas recently opened up about his upcoming film Youth, offering an honest and refreshing insight into the heart and soul of the project. In a candid interview, the young actor described Youth as “a simple and happy story about a schoolboy’s life,” setting the tone for what promises to be a relatable and feel-good cinematic experience.

According to Ken, Youth is not driven by high-stakes drama or complex twists. Instead, it captures the innocence, emotions, and everyday moments that define a student’s journey through school. By focusing on authenticity and character-driven storytelling, the film aims to strike a chord with audiences who cherish nostalgic tales rooted in real-life experiences.

Interestingly, Ken revealed that he repeatedly watched films like Attakathi, Love Today, and Premalu while preparing for Youth. However, it wasn’t for inspiration in the conventional sense. He admitted that he is usually hesitant to watch other films during the creative process, fearing that he might subconsciously draw from them. This time, though, he approached these movies with a clear intention to understand how simple stories can be presented in an engaging and compelling manner.
Ken pointed out that these films do not rely on grand narratives. Instead, they shine because of their strong character arcs and the way the stories are told. He particularly praised Premalu for its straightforward storyline, noting that it had “a very, very simple” plot without major twists and turns, yet managed to emerge as a thoroughly enjoyable and heartwarming film. For him, that is the magic of good storytelling making simplicity feel fresh, entertaining, and emotionally satisfying.

With Youth, Ken Karunaas seems determined to follow a similar path. The film reportedly leans into the charm of everyday life, focusing on small yet meaningful moments that define adolescence — friendships, crushes, classroom fun, and the bittersweet transition from childhood to maturity.
If Ken’s words are anything to go by, Youth is shaping up to be a wholesome entertainer that celebrates the beauty of simplicity. By prioritizing genuine emotions and relatable characters over dramatic spectacle, the film could resonate strongly with young audiences and families alike, reminding viewers that sometimes the simplest stories leave the biggest impact. Youth movie has its music composed by GV Prakash Kumar and scheduled for a March 19th release.
