Malayalam star Mohanlal and actor turned director Prithviraj Sukumaran’s action thriller L2: Empuraan has released across the global on March 27th. Opened to mixed reports from the critics and the audience, the film has dominated the worldwide box office in terms of collections.
Reportedly, the film has grossed a worldwide gross of Rs 200 crore by overtaking the previous film with a huge margin. Reports also suggest that the film has already grossed Rs 50 crore gross mark in the state of Kerala. Cashing in on the holidays advantage, the film has achieved blockbuster status at the box office.

Being bankrolled by Lyca Productions in association with Aashivad Cinemas and Sree Gokulam Movies, the film also stars Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran among others in a prominent roles. L2: Empuraan is promoted as a sequel to the 2019 film, Lucifer. The film has witnessed a good opening in Telugu states and in the USA.
The film has been getting a huge round of applause from not only Kerala but also performing beyond expectations in countries like Dubai, UAE and Singapore as well. Reports suggest that the movie has even become the highest opener of the year 2025 by overtaking many big films including Mohanlal’s films as well.
