
Lokah Emerges as Onam Winner, Races Towards ₹50 Crore Mark
The festive blockbuster Lokah continues its victorious run at the box office, showing no signs of slowing down. Early estimates suggest that the film is expected to collect in the ₹17 crore range worldwide today, pushing its cumulative tally towards ₹36 crores by the end of the day.
Trade circles further predict that the film will comfortably breach the ₹50 crore mark tomorrow. To cater to the massive demand, close to 275+ late-night shows have been added today across various regions. In Kerala, the film is performing exceptionally well, with today’s collections estimated at ₹4.70–4.75 crores, and tomorrow expected to cross the ₹5 crore single-day mark for the very first time.
With these numbers and the extraordinary audience response, trade analysts have already declared Lokah as the biggest Onam winner of the season. Starring Kalyani Priyadarshan in a titular role as Chandra the film’s central superhero, heralded as Malayalam cinema’s first female-led superhero character, Naslen as Sunny, a close ally in Chandra’s world and Sandy as Inspector Nachiyappa Gowda, Lokah was directed by Dominic Arun, who also co-wrote the screenplay and story for the project .
