Pradeep Ranganathan on Vijay and Ajith’s Legacy
With Tamil cinema witnessing a major transition — Superstar Vijay stepping into politics and Ajith Kumar focusing more on his passion for racing — discussions have begun about who could possibly fill the massive void left by the two stars.
During a recent interaction, actor-filmmaker Pradeep Ranganathan was asked about this very topic, and his response reflected both humility and admiration for the legends.
“No one can fill their place or replace them,” said Pradeep. “They’ve worked for over 30 years to reach where they are today. Films starring Rajini sir, Vijay sir, and Ajith sir become successful because of the audience, regardless of the script.”
He emphasized that stardom of such magnitude doesn’t come overnight and is ultimately decided by the viewers.
“Maybe in another 30 years, we might see who can reach that level — and even then, it will be decided by the audience,” he added.
Pradeep, who is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Dude, continues to be hailed as one of the most promising young talents in Tamil cinema, often appreciated for his grounded take on stardom and storytelling.
