Ram Charan’s upcoming collaboration with maverick filmmaker Sukumar, tentatively referred to as #RC17, has already become one of the most anticipated projects in Telugu cinema. Even before its official launch, the film is creating strong buzz in industry circles, and the latest update has made fans even more curious the movie is expected to feature two leading heroines alongside Ram Charan.

The Ram Charan–Sukumar combination holds special significance. Their previous film Rangasthalam (2018) was a massive blockbuster and is widely regarded as one of the finest performances of Ram Charan’s career. Sukumar’s unique storytelling style, rooted characters, and rustic backdrops perfectly complemented Charan’s intense screen presence. Naturally, expectations for #RC17 are sky-high, with many fans hoping the duo will recreate or even surpass the magic of their earlier collaboration.

While the plot is being kept strictly under wraps, industry sources suggest that the film will be mounted on a large scale with a strong emotional core, a hallmark of Sukumar’s writing. The inclusion of two female leads indicates that the story may revolve around layered relationships and multiple character arcs rather than being a conventional hero-centric narrative. Sukumar is known for writing complex characters, so the heroines are likely to have substantial roles rather than just serving as romantic interests.

Before stepping onto the sets of #RC17, Ram Charan is currently busy completing “Peddi,” directed by Buchi Babu Sana. The makers recently confirmed the film’s release date as April 30th, setting up a major summer release. The project is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers, one of the most successful production houses in Telugu cinema today.

“Peddi” already carries strong hype due to its impressive team. Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor plays the female lead opposite Ram Charan, marking an important pairing. Adding to the excitement, the music is being composed by legendary composer A.R. Rahman, whose association alone has raised expectations for the soundtrack and background score.

Once Ram Charan wraps up “Peddi,” he is expected to shift his complete focus to Sukumar’s #RC17. Given Sukumar’s meticulous filmmaking style and Ram Charan’s growing pan-Indian appeal after RRR, the project is likely to be designed for a nationwide audience.

With a blockbuster director, a star hero in peak form, and the intriguing addition of two heroines, #RC17 is shaping up to be one of the biggest Telugu film announcements in recent times. Fans are now eagerly waiting for the official casting details and launch announcement.
