Thudarum, the upcoming Malayalam film starring legendary actor Mohanlal, is officially set to release in theatres on April 25, 2025. The announce’ You’ve heard the whispers. You’ve felt our arrival. It’s time to drive it home. Thudarum arrives on April 25th.” Thudarum is being directed by Tharun Moorthy who is best known for his critically acclaimed films Operation Java and Saudi Vellakka.
Thudarum has actress Shobana, one of Malayalam cinema’s most celebrated on-screen pairs. Their pairing has previously delivered classics like Manichitrathazhu, Thenmavin Kombathu, and Pavithram, and fans are eager to see their on screen chemistry yet again.
Thudarum’s teaser released earlier hinted at a film that starts off warm and humorous, with scenes of Shanmugham’s day-to-day life, but gradually transitions into a more suspense-driven narrative. With Maniyanpilla Raju as a supporting cast the announcement was made via the actor’s social media.
Thudarum was initially expected to arrive in January 2025, but the release was postponed due to strategic considerations regarding its digital streaming window. And now with a confirmed date in late April, the filmmakers appear to be targeting the summer crowd while aligning with a tighter theatrical-to-OTT release.
Produced under the Moonshot Entertainments banner, Thudarum is also notable for being Mohanlal’s 360th film, marking yet another milestone in his storied career. Thudarum is planned for only Kerala release.
