Andhra King Taluka: A biopic of a cinema fan (3/5)
Synopsis:
Set in the year of 2000’s, the film majorly revolves around an ardent fan named Sagar (Ram Pothineni) and his matinee idol Superstar Surya( Upendra). The love angel unfolds between Sagar and Mahalaxmi(Bhagyashri Borse) in a cute manner. When it comes to take a decision of his fansim or his love life? What will Sagar do? The forms the crucial crux.
Performances:
As usual, Ram Pothineni is like a live wire on the screen. His performance as an ardent fan completely occupy the screen and brings good depth to the scenes.
Heroine Bhagyashri Borse is cute on the screen and is glamorous in the songs. Her chemistry with Ram Pothineni is good. The love track between the lead pair has been captured well.
Upendra’s cameo as on screen Superstar is alright. His scenes with his fans are emotional and brings the depth to the proceedings to an extent. Other supporting artists such as Murali Sharma are okay. On comedy front Satya, Rahul Ramakrishna and UTV Ganesh did justice to their roles.
Analysis:
Director Mahesh Babu Pachigolla idea is good but his routine template screenplay comes a major drawback for the entire movie.Due to the flat screenplay with a minor conflict arises during interval point even in the second half too it didn’t capitalize much.
Technical Department:
On technical front, Vivek–Mervin music is out of the Sync. Though the duo did a decent job with the songs, they background score is laud and totally disappointing.
The cinematography work by Siddhartha Nuni is good as he captured the whole film on a satisfactory note. Editing by A. Sreekar Prasad is just okay. The production values by Mythri Movie Makers are lavish as they didn’t care of the movie budget. Production designer Avinash Kolla did a commandable job in recreation of the vintage setup.
Verdict:
Altogether, Andhra King Taluka is an enjoyable ride which has a ample amount of fan moments in it. The love thread between the lead pair is showcased in a cute manner but the emotional thread between a fan and his matinee idol has been disappointing making the film a one-time watch during this weekend.
