Arjun Chakravarthy, is a biographical sports drama in Telugu, inspired by the life of a kabaddi player who represented India in the 1970s–80s. The film is carrying decent buzz among the audience and has hit the screens on August 29,2025. Let’s Review it.
Synopsis:
Arjun Chakravarthy (Vijaya Rama Raju) is an orphan raised under the care and guidance of his uncle (Dayanand Reddy). As he grows into his teenage years, his uncle recognizes his potential and begins training him rigorously in Kabaddi.During this phase, Arjun develops a close bond with Devika (Sijaa), a beautiful young woman from a higher caste. However, under pressure from her parents regarding marriage, Devika ties the knot with another man, leaving Arjun heartbroken and depressed.Just when Arjun is struggling to cope with his personal loss, he receives a life-changing call from the Indian Kabaddi Federation, inviting him to represent the country. What path will Arjun choose from here? Will he rise above his setbacks and play for the nation with the support of his coach? What challenges and hardships will he endure in his journey? Performances:
Vijay Rama Raju is perfect fit for the given role. His hardwork and dedication for the role portrayed is nice and easily visible on the screen.Looks- wise, Vijay Rama Raju is handsome and his height is going to be a major asset for his upcoming films.Heroine Sijaa is cute on the screen and gave a decent performance in the given role.
Dayanand Reddy gets a strong role and he did a nice job. Ajay is fine as a coach. Others supporting actors did their job in a convincing manner.
Technical Department:
Vignesh Baskaran’s music is neat and elevates the film at regular intervals.Editing work by Pradeep Nandan is decent.The Cinematography by Jagadeesh Cheekati is more than natural and captures the period vibe nicely.A Gannet Celluloid Production or Gannet Celluloid production house,the production values are bright and captivating.
Analysis:
Arjun Chakravarthy is a well made biographical Sports drama that has cut and right to the narration.But the screenplay needs to be even more gripping.Direction and the Screenplay order by Vikrant Rudra fails to an extent in this aspect. Adding to it,the slow paced proceedings in the first half comes as a minus for the movie.
Verdict:
Altogether, Arjun Chakravarthy is a perfect tribute to the real life character. Hero Vijaya Rama Raju tried his best to bring life to the real life character. If you ignore a bit slow and dull paced portions in the first half, Arjun Chakravarthy ends up a enjoyable drama with a right mix of emotions during this weekend.
