Barabar Premista: Message oriented love drama (3/5)
Attitude Star Chandrahass is back with a youthful entertainer titled, Barabar Premista. Directed by Sampath Rudra, the film also stars Meghna Mukherjee as the female lead. Amidst good expectations among the youth audience, the film had a theatrical release on February 6,2026. Let’s Review it.
Synopsis:
Set in a village in Telangana, Chandu( Chandrahass) is an attitude guy. In his village, the situation looks nothing different as villagers are separated from ego filled. Unexpectedly, he loves a beautiful girl Bujji ( Meghna Mukherjee) from the opposite camp and elope her to Kerala. What happens there in between the young couple? What will they do to their parents approval for their love, Forms the crucial crux.
Performances:
Attitude Star Chandrahass is superb with his attitude in the movie. Be it dances or fights , the young actor literally lived in the character.
Heroine Meghna is cute on the screen and gave a good performance in the given role.
Other supporting artists such as Laxman Meesala gave a nice performance in the negative shaded role. Noted actors like Muralidhar Goud, Madhunandan and Arjun Mahi gave their best for the film.
Analysis:
MA Tirupathi’s story has a soul in it but it is diluted with some unwanted hero built-up shots in the first half. But the film is a not bad choice for the audience because it has a proper rom-com track between the lead pair.
The first half of the film has some routine friends track which would have been available but it is covered nicely with a thought provoking climax portions.
On the whole, the film has a few set backs here and there but towards the end it is remembered with a message from the film.
Technical Department:
Firstly, the music composed by RR Druvan is okay. His background score fails to register but a couple of songs are nice on the screen.
Coming to, the cinematography (DOP) by YR Sekhar is good in parts. The same is case with the editing part.
The direction part lacks a fresh treatment due to which the proceedings look dull till the climax portions. While the fights are composed in a natural way, the production values for this limited budget movie are okay.
Verdict:
Altogether, Barabar Premista is social drama laced with the youthful elements. The core backed by authentic performances by the lead pair makes the audience hooked the narrative. Especially, the climax portions where all the real characters happens to unfold is good and makes the film a passable watch during this weekend.
