Brahma Anandam starring Brahmanandam and his son Gowtam in the prominent roles has hit the screens today on Valentine’s Day special. Let’s see how it goes.
Story:
Murthy( Brahmanandam) lives in a old age home. On the other side, his grandson Gowtam( Brahma Anandam) is on intense trails for movie offers. At a point in time, Murthy takes Brahma Anandam to his village. Brahma Anandam who is in need of money obeys his grandfather’s decision and goes with him for a couple of days along with his friend. What is the role of Vennala Kishore’s character? Why murthy takes Brahma Anandam to the village? Is there any reason behind the entire the village story, forms the crucial crux.
Plus points:
The chemistry between the real life father-son worked very well on the screen as grandfather and grandson. Both of them gave a good performance. The best part is that both of them look like A grandfather and grandson rather than the real life characters.
While Gowtam is good as a budding actor, Brahmi gave a settled and matured performance. The love track between Gowtam and Priya is decent.
Vennela Kishore’s character is a lifeline for the movie as his comedy timing and spontaneous facial expressions worked big time.
Minus points:
The emotional bonding between the characters has not been projected in a right manner due to which the entire movie looks as an artificial drama.
The love track between the lead pair is decent but has loopholes in the narrative. The family bonding between the hero and his family members has not been projected in a convincing way.
Technical aspects:
The story and concept are decent enough but lacks an effective narration. The cinematography work is neat as the natural locations in rural area(village) are presented nicely. Editing work is decent.
The music is cool and so as the background score. The production values for this limited budget film are okay.
Verdict:
All in all, Brahma Anandam is a simple story between the grandfather and grandson. If exposed in a better way, the film would have been even better manner but sadly the soul is missing in the narrative making it a dull watch during this Valentine’s Day weekend.
