Story:
Being an assistant director, Vadha Ram(Indhra Ram) always wanted to be a director and keep on making the trails for the same along with his friend. In the process, he faces rejection from the makers. Vexed with his directional trails, Vadha Ram decides to loot a bank to produce his own film. For the same, he along with his friends gang lands in the richest village named Phanakapalli. To shoot a documentary on the famous Jaggery which is being produced in that land, as a element to make the villagers believe. Rest of the story deals with what kind of struggles will Vedha Ram and his team faces in the village? How a girl named Anajali(Payal Radhakrishna) comes into the picture to help in the heist story? What kind of struggles will the team faces from village Sarpanch called Chinamma (Supriya Ayosula) in the process, forms a crucial crux.
Plus points:
Firstly, Karthik Gattamneni’s story is so refreshing as it can be termed as first of its kind of a storyline in Telugu cinema. Director of the film has done a decent job in handling the script in a decent manner. Nikhil Gollamari should be lauded for the same.
Coming to artists performance, hero Indra Ram is decent. Looks wise,he is okay and did a convincing performance. He did his part perfectly. Coming to his friends gang, Saleem Pheku,Mast Ali,Anji Valguman everyone one has done a decent job. Especially, Saleem Phekub evokes good laughs with his energetic screen presence. Mast Ali has done a fine job with his role.
The key roles did by Supriya and Rajeev Kanakala adds a superb support to the proceedings.
Lastly, heroine Payal Radhakrishna is looking lovely and done a decent job with her character.
Minus points:
The idea was good and has a scope to explore in an even better manner. The director and his team would have worked on the script in an even better manner but unfortunately, they haven’t done it.
The idea of exploring the Phanakapalli village would have been executed in an even better manner as the team has taken too much cinematic liberties in the execution part.
Technical Department:
Apart from the story and direction, the photography work done by Satheesh Mentem is captivating and his hard work is visible on the screen. Music director Davzand has done a decent job with the songs but his background score is arresting.
Editing by Uthura is sharp and slick. The production values for this tight budget film are good.
Verdict:
All in all, Chaurya Paatam is an entertaining heist drama. Though there are a few loopholes in the narration, Chaurya Paatam has bright chances to stand at the box office,if promoted well.
