
Malayalam actor Naslen has gained good popularity among the Telugu audience with his romantic entertainer Premalu. Now, the young actor is all set to try his luck with Gymkhana. Directed by Khalid Rahman, the film has hit the screens in Telugu on April 25,2025. Let’s Review it.
Story:
The film is all about five friends, who will be facing an identity crisis. The five friend s get to appear before intermediate board exams, except for Shanavas (Shiva Hariharan), the rest of four friends Jojo Johnson (Naslen), David “DJ” John (Baby Jean), Shifas “Valthu” Ahammed (Sandeep Pradeep), Shifas “Cherthu” Ali (Franco Francis) get a shock with the results. Left with no option, they decide to enter into boxing sports, There they how will the friends, will be facing the senior boxer Deepak Panikkar (Ganapathi S Poduval), Coach Antony Joshua (Lukman Avaran), fellow boxer Natasha (Anagha Maya Ravi)? How will they overcome the challenges in the process, Forms the crucial context during the proceedings.

Plus points:
Naslen yet again impresses with his situational acting as a backbencher. Apart from Naslen, the other guys named Lukman Avaran, Ganapathy, Baby Jean, Sandeep Pradeep, Franco Francis got good roles and impresses with their acting and comedy timing throughout.
Anagha as the female boxer got good screen presence and she impressed with her performance. Lukman attracted as the boxing coach. He generated humour with his expressions. Baby Jean also impressed with his acting talent.
All the other actors performed their given roles with an impressive act.

Minus points:
The climax is a bit disappointing as it looks rushed up. Apart from it, the film drops it’s pace during the first half which could have rectified at the script stage itself.
As the film story is simple and has no proper conflict point to connect with the audience, it can also be termed as a minus for the movie.
Technical Department:
Coming to the music,Vishnu Vijay elevated the scenes with his background music. He added value to the hilarious and comedy scenes with his background score. The photography work is fine so is the case with editing.
Last but not least, the director should be appreciated for coming up with a simple story line yet keeping the proceedings engaging.
The production values for this youthful entertainer are top notch.
Verdict:
All in all, Gymkhana is an enjoyable teenage drama that fulfills the targeted audience in a complete manner and has high chance to emerge as a winner at the Telugu box office.
