A small and cute film titled, Little Hearts, starring Mouli and Shivani Nagaram in the lead roles has generated good buzz among the audience. Directed by Sai Marthand, the movie has hit the screens on September 5,2025. Let’s Review it.

Synopsis:

Akhil ( Mouli Tanuj Prashanth) is a carefree EAMCET aspirant falls for a girl named Kathyayini( Shivani Nagaram) and try to impress her in all possible ways. After securing a low rank in EAMCET, Akhil joins a long-term MPC coaching institute to try his luck again. In the same campus, he comes across Khatyayani (Shivani Nagaram), who is battling her own academic pressures from the BiPC stream. What starts as casual interactions slowly turns into a tender bond. Just as Akhil gathers courage to confess his love, a startling revelation about Khatyayani changes everything. How does this discovery reshape his emotions? Can their connection withstand the weight of family expectations and personal struggles? The film unravels these questions through an emotional journey of love and resilience.

Performances:

Mouli Tanuj Prashanth famously know as Mouli is already a noted face among social media viewers. He Impresses yet again in the author made character and Impresses big time with his comedy timing and performance in the emotional scenes. Mouli seamlessly carries his trademark charm from YouTube onto the big screen. His natural comic timing, effortless expressions, and unassuming presence make him instantly likable. By not attempting to project himself as a larger-than-life hero, he stays authentic and that works strongly in his favour.Shivani Nagaram impresses with her pleasant screen presence. Her chemistry with Mouli feels organic, and she complements him well in both the light-hearted and romantic moments, adding warmth to their track.Among the supporting cast, Jai Krishna injects infectious energy, Rajiv Kanakala lends gravitas to his role, and Nikhil Abburi makes a notable contribution. Together, they keep the humour alive throughout.Several sequences especially those where Akhil tries to woo Khatyayani are genuinely amusing, with the humour flowing naturally rather than feeling forced.

Analysis:

Director Sai Marthand’s narrative follows a familiar and straightforward path, but the well-timed comedy often makes you overlook its simplicity. That said, the supporting roles deserved stronger writing. Both Rajiv Kanakala and Jai Krishna feel underutilized, and with more screen time, their performances could have carried greater weight. The pacing falters slightly after the twist, though the humour largely keeps the film afloat. The climax, however, feels rushed, and a sharper screenplay might have sustained the momentum till the very end. It’s evident that the film is designed with college-goers in mind, appealing primarily to youth audiences. While it works as a light and entertaining watch for them, viewers seeking deeper emotional resonance may find it a bit too breezy.

Technical Department:

Music by Sinjith Yerramilli is okay but would have been better. Even the songs are placed sensibly, blending into the narrative without disrupting its rhythm. The Cinematography by Suriya Balaji is colourful and he showcased every frame with a right mix of texture which captivates.

The editing by Sreedhar Sompally feels a bit loose in the second half and could have been crisper. The production values are adequate not extravagant, but decent enough to support the film’s tone.

Verdict:

Altogether, Little Hearts is a passable rom-com drama that has a good dose of comedy episodes. In a quick word, the film has a neat performances and comedy treatment making it a first pick among this weekend releases.
