A light hearted drama titled, Sarangapani Jathakam starring Priyadarshi in the lead role has created a good buzz among the audience. Directed by senior filmmaker Indraganti Mohanakrishna, the film is out April 25,2025. Let’s Review it.


Story:

Sarangapani(Priyadarshi) a marketing guy at a car showroom falls for a girl named Maithili(Rupa Koduvayur), who works in the same company as a head and gets a green signal for her. When about to marry her with the approval from respective family members, Sarangapani’s obsession with Astrology postpones the marriage alliance. Why Sarangapani takes this wired decision? Who influences him to postponed the marriage? Will Sarangapani gets back his love and marries the same girl? To know that you have to catch the film at the nearest cinemas.

Plus points:

After Court, actor Priyadarshi is back with yet another strong character in which he gave his cent percentage. His acting is in perfectly sync with the director’s vision and proves that he is a superb pick for the lead role.

Vennela Kishore gets a meaty role in which he gave a convince performance and impresses with his mark comedy timing and scene betterment with his facial expressions.

Rupa Koduvayur is cute on the screen and gave an impressive performance in her given key role. Her pairing with Priyadarshi is fresh and reflects the same on the screen.

Srinivas Avasarala gets a good role and screen time in this comedy coated drama and is impressive, as usual. The same is the case with Viva Harsha. The talented actor evokes good laughs in the key second half of the movie.

Tanikella Bharani is a perfect pick for the given role and did a decent job. Senior actor Naresh gets a role which has a mix of comedy and drama in which he did a better job. Vadlamani Srinivas gets a length role as hero’s father and he is impressive in given role.

Other artists such as Rupa, Raja Chembolu, Pradeep, Ashok Kumar and Shivannarayana did a fine job in their limited roles.

Minus points:

Most of the film looks good due to Indraganti Mohankrishna’s writing but at a point in time, the film looks as a, single-point scratched which would have been avoided by involving various sub plots in the narrative.

Lack of commercial songs, despite having a good lead pair can be termed as a minus points for the film.

Technical Aspects:

As above said, director Indraganti Mohankrishna’s writing is strong and his treatment has a similar trademark remaining his previous works.

His director is decent enough but lacks refreshing moments in the proceedings.

The music by Vivek Sagar is fine as all songs are situational. Coming to background score, he did a decent job.

The cinematography work by PG Vinda is top-notch. The editing work is perfect. The production values for this limited budget film are good.

Verdict:

All in all, Sarangapani Jathakam is a laugh riot which has an impressive performance by the actors. Director Indraganti Mohankrishna’s strong writing comes as a plus point but his treatment lacks freshness in it. Watch it if you are a fan of confusion comedy dramas but for others Sarangapani Jathakam will end up as a passable watch during this weekend
