Powerstar Pawan Kalyan is busy with the politics in Andhra Pradesh and serving as Deputy Chief Minister. On the other hand,his already committed movies got delayed due to lack of his call sheets. As a relief, his movies are releasing one after another. In the process, his authentic action drama, They call him OG(OG) is released today with the premiers. Directed by Sujeeth,the movie is out on September 25,2025. Let’s Review it.

Synopsis:

Decade after disappearing, Mumbai’s feared don Ojas Gambheera ( Pawan Kalyan ) returns unstoppable, ruthless and ready to reclaim his throne.With vengeance against Omi Bhau( Emran Hashmi) fractured loyalties and buried betrayals, OG sets the stage for a brutal underworld war. Why Ojas returns to Mumbai after a decade? Is there any specific reason behind it? What he is doing in the meantime? How is the role of Geetha ( Shriya Reddy) ? What is the role of Priyanka Mohanan ( Kanmani) and Arjun ( Arjun Das) in the proceedings, forms the crucial crux.

Performances:

Pawan Kalyan makes a stylish entry in the movie. Be it his attitude or his retro costumes, everything is designed perfectly.His performance in intense action scenes will only lift the game and his aura is all around. His timeless swag and mannerisms are an added advantage for this gangster drama which is filled with more of action that is being presented in a stylish manner.

Apart from him, yet another important role is portrayed by Emran Hashmi. He is brilliant in the given role as an opponent of Ojas Gambheera aka Pawan Kalyan.

Yet another character to remember is Shriya Reddy. She is a surprise package in the movie and delivered and intense performance in the given Geetha role. Arjun Das has given his best for the film.

Priyanka Mohanan is okay as Ojas’ love intrest in the given limited screen time. Other supporting artists such as Rao Ramesh , Sudev Nair ,Harish Uthaman , Tej Sapru Mirajkar, Rahul Ravindran, Bhadra, Abhimanyu Singh, Tawde Saurav, Lokesh Shabra, Upendra Limaye,Ajay Ghosh,Vennela Kishore are okay in their limited screen time. On the other hand, Prakash Raj gave a good performance in the character that registers well.Neha Shetty is glamorous in her given special song. She provides an eye candy treat in the song.

Analysis:

Being a fan boy, Director Sujeeth has presented in a way that fans have been waiting to see powerstar. Though the narration looks lag in parts, it was cleverly filled with some outstanding aura of Pawan Kalyan.He succeeded cent percent in showcasing Pawan Kalyan in a never before seen energetic role.Sujeeth handled the movie in a outstanding manner for which is should be appreciated.

Technical Department:

Music by SS Thaman is energetic and comes as an major advantage for the film. While his songs are trendy with a right mix of retro style instruments. But his background score is next level which will be used as elevation context for some of the years.The cinematography work by Ravi K. Chandran & Manoj Paramahamsa is just outstanding. The editing work by Naveen Nooli is okay.The production values for this star stunned movie by DVV Entertainment are nice and looks lavish.

Verdict:

Altogether, OG is an stylish packed action drama which is lauded for its well designed action. It is nicely packed with an emotional thread which will be lovable and has some engaging moments in the narration. Laced with a super performances, OG stands as one of the memorable films in PSPK carrer. Just go for it.
