Tuk Tuk Review: Silly fantasy drama

Alone with a half a dozen of the films, a small yet cute film titled, Tuk Tuk has also released on March 21st. Let’s see how it is.

Story:

The film mainly runs on three teenagers. When the time comes they decide to invite a vehicle for their village. Out of so much of struggle, they finally manages to make a new vehicle with the help of their old scooter. Surprisingly, the vehicle starts moving without any human help and earns so much money and fame to the youngsters among the villagers. As a shock to the three youngsters, they comes to know that a ghost is in the vehicle. Who’s ghost was that? For what purpose the ghost came into the vehicle? How is a beautiful girl named Shilpa( Saanve Megghanav) from the same village is interlink with the proceedings? Forms the crucial crux.

Plus points:

The trio youngsters did an commendable job. Especially, Roshan, who scored a blockbuster with recent outing ,Court has once again gave a truly unbelievable performance.

Adding to him, Salaar fame Karthik Dev and Steven Madhu gave tremendous performance in their key roles.

Coming to Saanve Megghanav, the girl is the Show stealer. She is cute on screen in half sarees which fitted her perfectly. Nihal as her pair gave a decent performance in the limited screen time.

On the whole, the artists gave a superb performance in their given roles

Minus points:

Major drawback of the film is not so impressive second half proceedings. Especially, Shilpa character’s flashback portions are totally out of the imaginary and disconnects the audience mood.

Yet another minus point comes as a slow and tedious proceedings in the second half of the film.

Technical aspects:

The director’s idea should be appreciated for creating a fantasy world in a small village. But main problem is with his execution.

The music work is soothing as both the background score and the songs are hunting throughout. The cinematography work is cool and so as the editing work.

The production values for the low budget movie are good.

Verdict:

All in all, Tuk Tuk is a fantasy drama that has a refreshing performance and content but lacks a racy narrative in the proceedings. Considering the film’s scale, it can be happily watched on OTT platform whenever it is released online.
