Jana Nayagan is an upcoming Indian Tamil language political action thriller film directed by H. Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions. The film stars actor turned politician Vijay, Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol in the lead roles, alongside Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, Priyamani, Mamitha Baiju, Jisshu Sengupta, Monisha Blessy and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. It is intended to be the final film of Vijay before his political entry, as well as KVN’s first Tamil language production.
The film was officially announced in September 2024 under the tentative title Thalapathy 69, as it is Vijay’s 69th film as a lead actor, and the official title was announced in January 2025. Principal photography commenced the following month in Chennai along with a schedule in Payanoor. The film has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography handled by Sathyan Sooryan and editing by Pradeep E. Ragav.
Jana Nayagan was initially scheduled to be released in October 2025, but was postponed. It is now scheduled to be released on 9 January 2026. Meanwhile, the OTT details of the film are announced long back by the makers. As per the reports, Amazon Prime has acquired the post- theatrical streaming rights of the film for a whopping prize which is now talk of industry.
Reportedly, the film will release in Hindi along with the Tamil and Telugu languages with a gap of eight weeks from the theatrical release of the film before making a debut on the streaming platform. Reports also suggest that the streaming platform has bagged the Rights for a whopping prize as the film marks final film of the actor.
