L2: Empuraan is an action thriller film directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and written by Murali Gopy. Starring Mohanlal in the lead role, the film had its theatrical release on March 27th and went on to become highest grosser of 2025 in Malayalam language.
It is jointly produced by Antony Perumbavoor, Subaskaran Allirajah and Gokulam Gopalan through Aashirvad Cinemas, Lyca Productions and Sree Gokulam Movies. The second instalment in the Lucifer trilogy. Alongside Mohanlal, the film also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Abhimanyu Singh, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Jerome Flynn, Andrea Tivadar, Saikumar, Baiju Santhosh, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Kishore among others in a crucial roles.
Meanwhile, the latest news is that L2:Empuraan is all set to make its entry into the digital platform to entertain the netizens. Reportedly, the film will be available on popular OTT streaming channel JioHotstar from this month 24th.
An official announcement regarding the same came out this evening with a new poster. As L2: Empuraan turned out to be a blockbuster success at the box office, the team is planning to make a film as a continuation soon.
