Mithra Mandali Finds New Life on OTT After Theatrical Failure
Mithra Mandali, starring Priyadarshi and popular digital creator Niharika NM, faced a disappointing run at the box office. Directed by Vijayendar S, the film opened to poor reviews from critics and audiences alike, with social media abuzz with harsh criticism and memes during its theatrical release.
However, the film seems to be getting a surprising second wind on OTT. Now streaming on Prime Video in Telugu, Hindi, and Tamil, Mithra Mandali has climbed up to the fifth position on the platform’s trending list in India. The makers have reportedly released a re-edited version of the film for its digital debut, trimming certain portions that were criticized during its initial run.
Produced by Kalyan Manthina, Bhanu Pratapa, and Dr. Vijender Reddy Teegala under the Sapta Aswa Media Works and Vyra Entertainments banners, the film also stars Rag Mayur, Vishnu Oi, and Prasad Behra in supporting roles.
Despite its theatrical debacle, Mithra Mandali’s newfound traction on streaming platforms proves that sometimes, a second chance can make all the difference.
