Retro starring Suriya and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles is out on May 1st. Opened to positive word of mouth, the film has collected an amount of close to ₹18 crore on its first day in Tamil Nadu alone. In Telugu, the film collections look steady and expected to continue the same over the weekend.
Touted as a love action drama, Retro has a feel good love story between Suriya and Pooja Hegde. Adding to it, the film has an ample amount of action and sentiment in the proceedings. To cut and right, the movie is a package of drama and love elements in the director Karthik Subbaraj’s style of narrative.
Meanwhile, Retro post-theatrical streaming rights are bagged by popular streaming platform Netflix. Reportedly, the OTT platform has snapped the rights for a whopping amount and planning to release online in the month of June, as the film has been carrying a positive word of mouth, currently.
Retro is bankrolled by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment banner and has its music composed by Santhosh Narayan. The movie also has also produced by Stone Bench Creations. Retro also has Joju George, Jayaram and Nassar in a prominent roles.
