Test is a sports drama film directed by S. Sashikanth, who co-wrote the script with Suman Kumar and produced with Chakravarthy Ramachandra under YNOT Studios. Starring R. Madhavan, Nayanthara, Siddharth and Meera Jasmine, with Kaali Venkat, Nassar and Vinay Varma in supporting roles, the film marks Sashikanth’s directorial debut and Jasmine’s return to Tamil cinema after a 10-year hiatus.
The film was announced in April 2023 with principal photography being commenced the same month and continued till January 2024, where it was predominantly shot in Chennai and Bengaluru. The film features music composed by Shakthisree Gopalan, cinematography handled by Viraj Singh Gohil and editing by T. S. Suresh. Test is scheduled for a direct-to-OTT release on April 4th.
It is well known that Reputed OTT platform Netflix has bagged the streaming rights of the film. The film is scheduled for a page-per-view format initially but is later dropped by the Netflix team. Reportedly, the team is planning to release the film online on April 4th without any term and conditions. Not to forget the craze for Nayanthara among the digital audience, the team has taken the decision.
Alongside Nayanthara, noted actors like R. Madhavan, Siddharth and Meera Jasmine are seen in a key roles in Test.
