Test, a new web show starring Nayanthara, Siddharth and R Madhavan in a key roles is out for streaming on reputed OTT platform Netflix on April 4th. Let’s Review it.
Story:
The film mainly revolves around three characters named Venkatraman( Siddharth ) who is a renewed cricketer, a school teacher Kumudha( Nayanthara) and her husband Saravanan( R Madhavan) a, scientist who passes out from MIT. What is common point in their lives? What kind of Tests they undergo in achieving their life goals? Forms the crucial crux.
Performances:
Undoubtedly, Narayanthra is a major attraction for the film. Her screen presence is captivating in the proceedings. While Siddharth is fine in his role as a cricketer, Madhavan is fine as well as the struggling scientist.
Child actor Lirish Rahav is good with his emotional acting. Other small time actors in okay in their supporting roles.
Analysis:
The director’s on paper idea was good but he would have worked even more on writing a racy screenplay.
After an interesting character build up scenes, the narrative drops later with a predicted scene order.
The overall, treatment losses the grip as the narrative falls flat from initial introducing scenes. After a gap, actress Meera Jasmine was seen in a key role and she is fine with her acting.
Technical Aspects:
As above said, the director S Sasikanth’s idea is okay but he writing is bad. If he worked on screenplay even more, the results would have been even better.
The cinematography work by Viraj Singh Gohil is good as the framing he created for the film are superb.
The editing work by TS Suresh lacks sharpness in it. The production values for this star -stunned project are nice.
Verdict:
All in all, Test is a film that falls short of the expectations. Watch it for stars who played a key roles in it for the fans and for others, the film is a tedious watch.
