AP FDC Chairman Bharat Bhushan Gives Clarity on Andhra Pradesh Nandi Awards
Andhra Pradesh FDC Chairman P. Bharat Bhushan and AP FDC MD K.S. Viswanathan announced key details regarding the revival of the prestigious Nandi Awards for the Telugu film, television and theatre sectors.
Speaking to the media, P. Bharat Bhushan said the awards, which have been pending for several years, will be presented under the guidance of the Andhra Pradesh Government. Awards announced for 2012–2016 will be presented, while 2017–2024 will have four awards for each year. The 2025 awards will be considered afresh.
He also announced that pending NTR Awards, TV and Theatre Awards will be presented, with the process targeted for completion by December 25. Notifications for all categories have been released, and applications will be accepted until October 12. The jury and committees will be announced in the second week of October.
AP FDC MD K.S. Viswanathan said the detailed award-wise information and application process will be made available on the designated website. He stated that the film sector has approximately 288 awards and 51 jury awards, while the television sector has 330 awards and 54 jury awards for the earlier period.
He further said that from the 2017–2024 period, First Best, Second Best and two Jury Awards will be presented for each year, with the regular award system continuing thereafter.
The Nandi Awards ceremony is proposed to be held in the Amaravati region, while the TV Awards ceremony will be conducted in Tirupati. The officials expressed confidence that the revival of the awards will provide a prestigious platform to recognise talent across the Telugu film, television and theatre industries.
The AP FDC Chairman also announced that a Single Window system for film-related permissions is expected to be announced within the next 20–30 days.
