Dhanush’s ‘OM’ Locks November 20, 2026 Release Date

Dhanush’s upcoming film OM: Chapter 1 – The Blood of OM has officially locked November 20, 2026 as its new release date. The makers announced the date through a striking new poster featuring Dhanush alongside Malayalam superstar Mammootty, further raising expectations around the much-awaited project.

A few days ago, it was reported that OM was being postponed from its earlier release schedule. The film was initially slated to arrive in cinemas on October 15, 2026, but the makers eventually decided to move away from the date due to a crowded festive-season release window.

Dhanush later addressed the postponement through an official note, explaining the circumstances behind the decision. With Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 and Suriya’s Scene also targeting the same period, the team felt it would be appropriate to step back and choose a different date for OM. The decision was taken with the intention of giving the film a wider and more comfortable theatrical window.

Now, the wait has come to an end. The team unveiled a new poster this afternoon announcing November 20, 2026 as the theatrical release date. The poster carries an intense, gritty visual design, with Dhanush and Mammootty seen holding guns against a blood-soaked backdrop. The new artwork also highlights the film’s action-oriented and dark tone.

Titled OM: Chapter 1 – The Blood of OM, the film marks an ambitious project for Dhanush and is written and directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, who previously made Amaran. The film has generated considerable curiosity because of its scale, ensemble cast and intense narrative setup.

Mammootty is set to play a key role in the movie, adding another major attraction to the project. The film also features Sai Abhyankkar as the music composer, while Shraddha Agrawal, Dhanush and Azmat Jagmag are backing the project as producers.

With the new release date now officially confirmed, OM is gearing up for a November 20, 2026 theatrical arrival. The latest poster has already added to the anticipation surrounding the film, particularly with Dhanush and Mammootty sharing the frame in such an intense setting.
