Hyy Chikitha starring Abhinav Manikanta and Divija Prabhakar as the main lead has created a buzz among the moviegoers with its colourful title card. Directed by Dhanraj Lekkala, the movie is out on July 24, 2026. Let’s Review Hyy Chikitha.

Synopsis:

The film is all about four friends ( Abhinav Manikanta, Sai Kaushik

Sai Nayudu, Ashok Vardhan) roles played the respective artists who has no big dreams but to live happily in their own village by doing farming. On the other hand, Shiva (Abhinav Manikanta) has a lover in the form of Chitti ( Divija Prabhakar). How all the friends in the village come forward to support their love story? What is the key social issue dealt, forms the crucial crux.

Performances:

Firstly, the acting by Abhinav Manikanta and Divija Prabhakar is so natural as if they really look like the lovers on the screen.

The acting by Tanmai Kushi and Devi Prasad is fine and their characters are apt to the film.

Prabhakar Podakandla , Anji Mama Milkuri,Sai Kaushik, Sai Nayudu, Ashok Vardhan and Balagam Sujatha are okay to their limited screen time.

Analysis:

Though the theme of the movie has a freshness in it, the outdated presentation spoils the aim of the movie. If the team would have focused more on the scene order at the scripting stage itself, the result would have been unanimous.

The performances by the lead artists is okay but the characters are not handled properly which is clearly visible on the screen.

Technical Support:

Music composed by Charan Arjun is first-class as the songs which come during the crucial proceedings are apt to the narrative.

On the other hand, the cinematography by Anji Garudavega is superb as his framing is attractive and natural locations are presented in a captivating manner. The editing work by Chintala Madhu is okay but he have focused more on unwanted scenes in the first half as the tighter edit could have impacted in an even better way.

Coming to director Dhanraj Lekkala. He should be appreciated for coming up with an idea that  contemporary youth has been facing in the current generation. But his scene order would have been tighter to make the things fall into place.

The production values for this tight budget movie are good as the makers have spent good amount for the betterment of the movie.

Verdict:

Altogether, Hyy Chikitha is a enjoyable ride that has some of the youthful elements and they are balanced with burning social issue regarding the farmers and their self respect. Adding to it, the lead artists performance is good and making the film a must watch for the audience who expect some hard hitting social dramas along with the youthful elements.
