Following the success of his last film, KA, young hero Kiran Abbavaram is back again with a youthful entertainer titled, Dilruba. The film out on March 14th on the occasion of Holi, today. Let’s see how it is.
Story:
The film is all about a youngster named Siddhu (Kiran Abbavaram) and his failure love story. To get our his memories with his Ex-girlfriend, Siddhu moves to a new place named Mangalore to continue his studies a college. There is crosses paths with a Tom-girl named Anjali( Rukshar). Impressed with the character of Siddhu, Anjali falls for Siddhu. When everything is going well in their love life, as a twist Siddhu’s ex comes in the scene to solve the issues between Siddhu and Anjali. Will she succeed in reunion process? What kind of hurdles will he face, forms the crucial crux.
Plus points:
Kiran Abbavaram is perfect in his role as a angry young man. His acting during the key portions bring depth to the proceedings. As a youngful college going student he is perfect and delivers an impressive performance.
Rukshar is cute and performed her Tom-girl character nicely. Her chemistry with Kiran Abbavaram is good.
The other actress, who did the role of Maggie is superb and gave a convincing performance in her given key role.
The basic idea of the film is good and creates curiosity among the audience.
Minus points:
After a refreshing first half things go out of the hands in the latter half. The racy narrative is definitely missing in the second half which can be termed as a minus for the film.
The screenplay drops in the second half due to which the audience loss interest in the proceedings during the course of the time.
Technical aspects:
Director did fairly decent job but when it comes to concept of the film he missed to treat the idea with a packed commercial elements.
The cinematography work is good as the film is set with the colorful frames. The editing work is okay but could have been better because some unwanted scenes in the second half could have easily trimmed. The production values for this limited budget film are good.
Verdict:
In an overview, Dilruba is a half baked romantic drama that struggles due to an un engaging second half. The film can be watched with your Dilruba’s for an engaging first half and the chemistry between the lead pair during this festival weekend.
