Ranabaali: A Tale Of Revolutionary Fighter (3.5/5)

Sensational star Vijay Devarakonda and his better half aka National crush Rashmika Mannadana acted together after their marriage in a patriotic Action Drama titled, Ranabaali. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the movie is out on October 16, 2026. Let’s Review Ranabaali.

Synopsis:

Set in South India during the Great Famine during 1876–78 time frame .The film follows a rebellious local hero Ranabaali (Vijay Devarakonda) who rises against British colonial rule to protect his people and their land. What kind of support will be get from his wife Jayamma( Rashmika Mannadana)? How the conflict raise between Ranabaali and the British people? Later, how will he turn into a revolutionary, Forms the crucial crux.

Performances:

Vijay Devarakonda is solid with his makeover looks. His Rayalaseema slang is good. His hardwork is visible on the screen during the fight sequences. In one word, Ranabaali is truly Vijay Devarakonda’s one man show. His screen presence and costumes are amazing and adds the required push to the film which majorly deals with patriotic proceedings.

Rashmika Mannadana is cute as Vijay Devarakonda’s wife and her innocent looks as Jayamma adds the unique flavour for the film. Her chemistry with Vijay Devarakonda is so natural and adds the fascinating vibe to the proceedings.

Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo is fine as a wicked Britisher. Other Britishers who played the key roles are okay in their respective characters. Other actors such as Easwari Rao, Madhusudan and  Jason Shah are good in their key roles.

Analysis:

Director Rahul Sankrityan did an extensive research on the film which is visible on the screen. His writing is commandable. He literally owned the script and the situations that are prevailing during pre- Independence era have shot lavishly.

Rahul’s story and concept are good and has so much of scope to explore on the screen but unfortunately it didn’t happen during the slow paced scene in the first half. His screenplay lacks a proper punch in the most of the proceedings.

Pramod Tammineni, who worked as a co- writer for the film helps with his strong language dialogues on the Britishers.

Technical Support:

Music by Ajay Gogavale, Atul Gogavale (Ajay–Atul) duo is impactful when it comes to the songs. Their score for the movie is next level and elevates the crucial scenes nicely.

The Cinematography by Nirav Shah is amazing and grabs everyone’s attention. His framing is rich and his texture uplifts the movie into pre- Independence era.

The editing work by Karthika Srinivas R is okay but would have focused on runtime to make it even shorter version.

The production values by Mythri Movie Makers and T-Series have been solid and captivating. Art work should be appreciated for sure as the huge sets and detailing has been done so perfectly.

The costumes director should be backed as the work for Rashmika and Vijay Devarakonda dressing is clearly visible on the screen.

Verdict:

Altogether, Ranabaali is a patriotic drama that has a few intriguing portions and both the halves. Undoubtedly ,Vijay Devarakonda is showing sealer as he carries the entire film on his shoulders and mesmeres with his screen presence making the film a must watch for his fans during this festival weekend.
