Synopsis:
Set against the rustic and intense backdrop of Sea , Therachaapa unfolds as an emotional father-son saga rooted in love, responsibility, and mystery. At the heart of the story is Kaasi Babu (Nagar Mahesh), a respected and fearless leader who stands tall for his people, protecting them against every challenge that comes their way. His presence is a pillar of strength in the community, and his life revolves around justice and loyalty.
However, just as life seems to be on a steady path, tragedy strikes unexpectedly. Kaasi Babu’s sudden and mysterious death shakes the entire village, leaving behind unanswered questions and a void that cannot be easily filled.
Enter Eshwar (Naveen Raj), his son a carefree, easy-going young man who shares a deep emotional bond with his father. Despite his laid-back nature, the loss pushes Eshwar into a journey of transformation. Determined to uncover the truth, he begins to dig deeper into the circumstances surrounding his father’s death, only to realize that things are far more complicated than they appear.
As Eshwar’s investigation progresses, the lives of Seetha (Srilu) and Gayatri (Pooja Suhasini) become intricately connected to the mystery, each holding pieces of a larger puzzle. Meanwhile, Anand Raju (Rajeevi Kanakala) and Keshava, known for his association with the Pushpa world, play crucial roles that add layers of intrigue and conflict to the narrative.What follows is a gripping tale of emotions, secrets, and revelations, where a son must rise above his fears and uncover hidden truths to honor his father’s legacy, forms the crucial crux.
Performances:
Naveen Raj Shankarapu delivers a solid performance, fitting seamlessly into the role of a rustic village youth. His transformation into a fisherman feels authentic and adds credibility to the character. He carries the emotional weight of the film quite effectively.
Srilu and Pooja Suhasini are well-cast and justify their roles. Pooja Suhasini impresses with her graceful screen presence in a traditional avatar, playing a character that holds importance in the narrative. Meanwhile, Srilu gets a more performance-driven role and handles it with conviction, leaving a strong impact.
Rajeevi Kanakala, along with Nagar Mahesh, performs aptly within the scope of their characters. Keshav, known for his association with Pushpa, also makes his presence felt in a pivotal role and does a commendable job.
Other actors such as Prithviraj, Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, Fish Venkat, Jabardasth Ashok, Nagi, Apparao, Rising Raju, Rajesh Bhoopathi, Naga Vamsi, Srinivas Nesa, Chandra acted decently in their given roles.
Analysis:
The film scores well in its action sequences, which are executed with decent intensity. However, beyond these moments, the narrative tends to lose grip in certain portions. While the core story is engaging, it occasionally falls into familiar and predictable patterns.
Some routine storytelling elements and uneven pacing act as drawbacks. The screenplay, in particular, could have been tighter, as a few scenes feel stretched or underdeveloped, slightly affecting the overall flow of the film.

Prajal Krish’s music works well, with songs that blend into the narrative. ML Raja’s background score complements the film effectively, enhancing key moments.
Cinematographers Azeem and Venkat deserve appreciation for capturing the rural and coastal backdrop beautifully, adding visual depth to the story. Editor Raju Bodasingi keeps the runtime crisp, ensuring the film doesn’t overstay its welcome. Considering its scale, the production values are quite impressive and add to the film’s appeal.

Altogether, Therachaapa emerges as a grounded emotional drama with a realistic touch. Director Joel George does a fair job in presenting the story, and the performances from the lead cast elevate the film. Despite its predictable moments and minor screenplay issues, it remains a must watch for the weekend for the audience who enjoys this kind of fisherman dramas.
