Veteran actor Babu Mohan has been honored with the prestigious Relangi Award by the Telugu Film Television Welfare Forum & Bharat Cultural Academy, marking a significant milestone as he completes 41 years in the Telugu film industry.

Having acted in over 2,000 films, Babu Mohan is widely respected not only for his contributions to cinema but also for his social commitment and political service. He previously served as a Cabinet Minister in the united Andhra Pradesh state, earning recognition for his dedication and integrity.

A media meet was organized on this occasion, attended by several prominent personalities including Telugu Film Producers Council Secretary Tummala Prasanna Kumar, Naga Bala Suresh, actor Rangky, actor 30 Years Prudhvi Raj, noted journalist Suresh Kondeti, and others.

Speaking at the event, Naga Bala Suresh praised Babu Mohan’s remarkable journey and his grounded personality, expressing happiness over the recognition. Tummala Prasanna Kumar highlighted his humility and commitment, recalling his growth from early film days to serving as a minister while maintaining simplicity and integrity.

Actor Rangky emphasized that the Relangi Award is given only to truly deserving individuals and expressed joy that Babu Mohan received it. Journalist Suresh Kondeti appreciated his consistent nature and warm relationship with the media over the years.

Actor 30 Years Prudhvi Raj described Babu Mohan as one of the great pillars of Telugu comedy, alongside legends like Kota Srinivasa Rao and Brahmanandam. He also praised his contributions as a Labour Minister during the tenure of N. T. Rama Rao.

Addressing the gathering, Babu Mohan expressed gratitude to all attendees and media members. He reflected on his journey in cinema and politics, recalling his dedication as a Labour Minister and his passion for public service. He also mentioned his continued involvement in films and social service activities through a trust he established after stepping away from active politics.

He expressed happiness upon receiving the Relangi Award, named after the legendary comedian Relangi Venkata Ramaiah, and stated that while awards are meaningful, the blessings of the people matter most to him. He added that receiving a Padma award would be an honor, though he remains content regardless.

Several speakers at the event questioned why an artist of his stature, with over 2,000 films to his credit, has not yet been honored with a Padma Shri. They urged governments and organizations to consider recommending him for the prestigious recognition in the future.
